Brisbane Pink Floyd fans are flocking to the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium for an intergalactic jam session, with more than 10,000 tickets sold since the show was announced in September.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the Dark Side of the Moon Planetarium Experience has claimed the title as the fastest selling show ever for the venue.
“Brisbane residents and visitors are always looking for more to see and do on a budget, and this musical phenomenon is proving to be a hit,” Cr Schrinner said.
“’We initially planned to run up to 180 shows with more than 14,000 tickets available at full capacity.
“But with the overwhelming audience interest, we will now be offering more than 100 extra shows over the next few months, bumping the number of sessions to 10 a week.
“We anticipate more than 22,000 people to attend a session before it closes in March 2024.
“With tickets just $16 for adults and $12 for concession, the Pink Floyd experience is great value for music fans and stargazers alike.
“As the only place in Queensland to experience this sort-after show, I encourage fans to book their tickets early for a night to remember.”
The full-dome spatial features world-class cutting-edge technology paired with 42 minutes of Pink Floyd’s iconic album, ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’.
