Two of Brisbane’s fastest-growing suburbs are set for a major park boost, with final concept plans revealed for Pallara District Sports Park and Ellen Grove District Park.
The two new district sports parks will add to more than 14 hectares of land the Schrinner Council has developed into sport and recreation destinations since 2019, including:
- Nudgee Recreation Reserve
- Wakerley District Sports Park
- Bill Brown Sports Park
- Brisbane International Cycle Park
The concept plans for Pallara and Ellen Grove outline the vision for two multi-use destinations shaped by community feedback.
Pallara District Sports Park will feature:
- Outdoor sports fields for community use
- A clubhouse with public facilities
- On-site parking for visitors
- A dedicated bus drop-off and pick-up zone
Ellen Grove District Park will feature:
- A modern playground for families
- Tennis courts and court-based sport areas
- Picnic shelters and tables
- A clubhouse and community meeting space
Construction of Pallara District Sports Park is expected to start in the 2026/27 financial year, with works at Ellen Grove District Park planned to start the following financial year.
Both projects form part of the Schrinner Council’s commitment to deliver more to Brisbane’s suburbs by investing in high-quality local parks and sports facilities.
