The Schrinner Council’s $2 Summer Dips has saved residents millions of dollars in trips to the pool.
Since Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner introduced the cost-saving initiative more than 1.4 million people have saved around $5 million.
In the past summer alone more than 726,000 people took a trip to a Council pool.
The initiative slashes entry fees by $4.60 for an adult and $2.90 for a child. A family of four would save around $15 per trip.
Sandgate Aquatic Centre was the most popular pool this summer, with almost 95,000 people attending.
Newmarket pool also proved extremely popular with almost 92,000 visitors.
The Schrinner Council has also installed new heating systems at the Bellbowrie and Jindalee pools ahead of winter so residents can comfortably swim all year round.
