The Schrinner Council is keeping Brisbane moving with the Breakfast Creek / Yowoggera bridge recording half a million crossings in its first six months.
The bridge was delivered as part of the Bridges for Brisbane program and provides a safer and more direct link for people between the inner city and the northern suburbs.
Since opening in February, more than 500,000 people have crossed the bridge by foot, e-scooter or bike, totalling more than 3000 trips a day.
The bridge has reduced traffic congestion in the area, with an estimated 100 car trips a day removed from local roads thanks to the new link.
The project delivered 700 metres of new and improved walking and riding paths, with an extension to the Lores Bonney Riverwalk and a new two-way on-road cycle path from Newstead Park to Newstead Terrace.
The second project in the Bridges for Brisbane program is the Kangaroo Point Bridge which has reached 90 per cent completion and final works are now underway.
