Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner is encouraging families to swap screen time for sunshine these school holidays, with more than 2,100 parks across Brisbane ready to explore.
From picnics and playdates to bike rides, dog walks, water play and outdoor adventures, Brisbane’s parks offer something for every kind of day out.

Archerfield Wetlands
A nature-lover’s escape blending walking trails, birdwatching, sports fields and next-level play spaces. This former wastewater site turned award-winning park is designed for slow afternoons, curious kids and anyone keen to reconnect with the outdoors.
Hanlon Park
Once an ugly concrete drain, Hanlon Park is now a local favourite for picnics, bike rides and morning walks. The nature play area compliments the thousands of native plants that continue to thrive, while helping improve flood resilience.
Bradbury Park
Bradbury Park is a standout destination for families, packed with adventure play areas, shaded spaces and plenty of room to explore. Whether it’s climbing, running or relaxing, this park delivers fun for kids, so parents can enjoy downtime in the great outdoors.
New Farm Park

Wynnum Wading Pool Park
A go-to for easy, low-cost family fun by the bay. Calm, shallow water makes it perfect for younger kids to splash safely, while nearby playgrounds and picnic spots round out the day. Pack lunch, bring swimmers and enjoy a relaxed seaside escape without leaving Brisbane.
Rocks Riverside Park
Rocks Riverside Park is made for all-day adventures, with water play areas, wide-open spaces and plenty of shady picnic spots. Set along the river, it’s a favourite for families chasing an active day out.
Glindemann Park
Glindemann Park is best known for its popular pump track that keeps kids and teens coming back for more. With open space to spread out and play, it’s perfect for bikes, scooters and weekend hangs and a great spot to burn energy close to home.
Sherwood Arboretum
Sherwood Arboretum blends natural beauty with family-friendly fun, including its recently refreshed playground that’s already a hit with locals. Wander beneath towering trees, set up for a picnic and let the kids explore the new play space.
Grinstead Park
Alongside playgrounds and open spaces, the park features a popular learn-to-ride track that’s perfect for kids building confidence on bikes and scooters. It’s an easy spot for active afternoons where kids stay entertained all afternoon long.

The Schrinner Council’s revitalised Food Trucks and Coffee Carts in Parks program is also bringing even more life to local parks, with pop-ups serving everything from barista-made coffee to street food favourites every day of the week.
Since launching on 1 July 2025, the program has recorded 2,807 bookings and more than 17,000 hours of trade – the equivalent of nearly two years of non-stop activation – with pop-ups now taking place across Brisbane every day of the week.
