Brisbane is the greenest capital city in Australia and a big reason why, is our commitment to securing and protecting Brisbane’s natural habitat.
More than 4,400 hectares of land has been preserved under our Bushland Acquisition Program since it began in 1990 – equivalent to more than 590 Suncorp Stadiums
Brisbane has about 38.9 per cent natural habitat cover across the city and we’re working hard to achieve our goal of reaching 40 per cent by 2031.
That includes planting tens of thousands of street and park trees every year under our Greener Suburbs Program, to help make Brisbane’s suburbs even more liveable.
