Brisbane is growing three times faster than Sydney and twice as fast as Melbourne, yet recent congestion data has demonstrated the Federal Government has hit the brakes on Brisbane residents.

Brisbane City Council continues to do its share of the heavy lifting when it comes to transport infrastructure in our city, but the Federal Government has paused federally-funded projects and the State Government is missing in action.

A gridlocked region is something the mayors of south east Queensland have been warning about for years, but it’s fallen on deaf ears at the Federal and State levels.

We urgently need all three levels of government at the table to invest in critical infrastructure to keep our region moving.

Please join me in telling the Federal and State governments:

With more people choosing to move to south east Queensland it is essential we invest in roads and transport to reduce traffic congestion in our suburbs.

It simply doesn’t make sense to be cutting investment in transport at this time.
