Road Resurfacing
- Re-surfacing of key roads such as Winstanley Street, Creek, Old Cleveland, Gallipoli, Boundary, Wecker, Mt Gravatt- Capalaba, Meadowlands, Miles Platting, Underwood Roads, plus many local suburban streets
Local Public Transport Improvements
- 85 new environmentally friendly Volvo diesel buses for Carina Depot
- New natural gas buses for Garden City Depot
- A Personalised Pubic Transport (PPT) hail and ride maxi cab service for Carindale Hills
- New 209 bus service from Carindale direct to the University of Queensland via Council’s Eleanor Schonell bus bridge (services jointly funded with State Government)
Cyclist and Pedestrian Shared Pathway Construction (Bikeways)
- Bulimba Creek Bikeway, between Kidwelly Street and Carindale Shopping Centre
- Carina Heights Bikeway - Whatmore Street to Carindale Shopping Centre

- Eromanga Street park, Carindale - playground upgrade
- Cowell Street park, Carindale – picnic facilities
- Tones Road park, Mansfield – picnic shelter and dog-off-leash area improvements
- Edwards Park, Carindale – cricket pitch and playground upgrade
- Oakley Street park, Carindale – picnic and BBQ facilities and shade sails for playground

Bushland Acquisition Program

Creek Rehabilitation Projects
- Phillips Creek, Carina Heights - near Gallipoli Road
- Bulimba Creek, Mansfield - near Blackberry Street
- Salvin Creek, Mt Gravatt East – construction of a major storm water retention lake near Coolibah Street to help improve water quality
Conservation Reserve Improvements
- Upgrading the main entrance of the Belmont Hills Conservation Reserve, Carindale with new gates and car parking spaces
- Facilities Upgrades - Brisbane Koala Bushlands, Burbank
Tree Planting Projects
- 7,000 trees planted in Chandler
- 3,000 tress planted in Carindale
- 3,000 trees planted in Carina Heights
- 2,000 trees planted, corner of Creek and Old Cleveland Roads, Carindale (with B4C)
- Street Tree Planting Project in Camp Hill
Water Security
- Constructing a new Water Treatment Plant at Chandler to purify underground aquifer water (Plant transferred to State Government in 2008)
New Public Swimming Pool
- Construction of a $6 million pool at Mt Gravatt East
New Public Library
- Brand new public library for Carindale (construction now underway - completion due late March 2012)
Supporting Community and Sporting Groups
- Delivering much needed funding for a wide range of local community projects through Council grants and the Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiatives Fund (Chandler Ward)
Rainwater Tank Rebates
- Helping thousands of local residents save water and money through Council’s popular Rainwater Tank Rebate between 2006 and 2009
Supporting Local Community Events
- Supporting and funding the Brisbane Billycart Championships (formerly Carindale Capers) in partnership with the Carindale Rotary Club
- Working with the Lions Club of Camp Hill-Carindale to host an annual Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at Westfield Carindale
- Funding free ‘Movies in the Park’ for local families
- Funding for Gumdale/Wakerley Community Carols
- Funding for Belmont State School Community Carols
- Funding concerts for local seniors at AVEO Carindale and Palm Lake Resort
- Funding for the First Contact Touch Football event at Whites Hill Reserve
Mobile Offices
- Staying accessible to local residents by setting up my Mobile Office at various locations across the Chandler Ward
Other Local Initiatives
- Working to secure a Park and Ride facility for Carindale
- Successfully advocating for Capalaba West to be merged with the suburb of Chandler as per the wish of residents
- Fighting to stop the State Government’s plans to build hundreds of public housing units in a low density part of Carina Heights
